Samoan Tradition with the Pritchards
Today I went to a reception for Tavita and Caroline Pritchard's wedding and was shown how others really should treat people. The Pritchard's had a reception for Tavita and his bride, pastors were given many wonderful gifts and Caroline's parents were treated like royalty (literally). Everyone was welcome and was treated as if they were family. There was dancing and singing, laughing and eating but, the best thing fellowship. What I learned from this reception is that we really should treat others how we want to be treated just like the Pritchard's showed me with their Samoan traditions. The Pritchard's show me each day how I should treat others and how I should live my life through the ups and downs, they are true role models. I would just like to thank them now and let them know how wonderful they are!

I don't get on Google+ much, but I happened upon your blog and JUST saw this.
ReplyDeleteI know you meant this for David & Kelli, so on their behalf (they get on Google+ less than I do), I would like to thank you for your kind words. They truly do live out treating others as they would want to be treated and as Christ would treat others. I have learned so much from them!
But, I have to say that I have also learned a lot from the Shaffers! Your mom, who is obviously a dear friend, models a focus on, dependence on, and love for God, in spite of the many storms and heartaches she has been through. Your Dad, continues to love his family in spite of the cancer and all the struggles that come with that. Your brother Daniel, telling the world about his faith through his amazing baptism (and always asking me to come over :) ). And you Julia, like so many in your family, are wise beyond your years. I LOVE your unashamed boldness and love for Jesus! I LOVE how you love your peers, your church, your brother, your friends, your parents...and the list goes on.
Praying God's continual blessing and favor on your life!
I love you Julia Shaffer,
Auntie Becca
